As a Sr. Research Software Engineer at Saga, I use machine learning to support our high impact tutoring program working with maths students in underserved communities. To that aim, I’ve introduced an automated transcription pipeline, which takes the recorded video conferences and makes its recording and transcript available to the tutors for future viewing. I am also developing additional functionalities based on the data we have available, such as summarizing sessions for quick review, measuring how much students participate and engage, and synthesizing new training problems from our existing examples.
